About Us
The Bilderbergers is a four-man group participating in the course English 110. Collaboratively, we've created a website that we believe effectively discusses the overall theme we've chosen, that theme being 'Presidential Conspiracy Theories'. Each of us picked a president and researched conspiracies specific to that president.
The purpose of this website is a little different to each member of this site. What it is, and what it means to demonstrate, varies from individual to individual, like so much else in life. Below are the statements from each member of the group, regarding the meaning of the site in general and what it demonstrates. Names have been left out and replaced by the president which each member chose to pursue for this project.

'Lincoln Conspiracies'This site is meant to demonstrate all of the hard work that we as a group have put into researching the many conspiracies that are surrounding past and present Presidents of the United States. There was a lot of research that was put into this project and also a lot of effort to make this site look its best. It was so interesting to learn about all of these conspiracies and to get to research in depth one president. I think that this project is a good way to wrap up the course because we have been talking about conspiracies all semester long. Overall, this site is able to show all of the hard work that we have each done and it also serves to show that we have learned about researching and using different media tools to create this project.

'Reagan Conspiracies'During this project I believe that we have put in a lot of effort in order to make an interesting and informative website. As all the research took place in the previous project this seems to be a rather simple project, just organizing all the facts into an effective web page that contains all of the conspiracy theories that we have discovered about these four United States Presidents. Personally this sight was a very entertaining project, because of the fact that we got to look into some of the ridiculous conspiracies that follow the Presidents of the United States. Looking in to some of the events that took place in the past of our nation was really an interesting thing to look at how conspiracists take these things and blow them out of proportion and apply the events to completely different situations. I think this project was a good way to wrap up this class about conspiracy theories because we got to do in depth research of ones that our groups chose and discuss them in this web page. Over the time of this course we learned more and more about the odd things that conspiracists tend to believe, always thinking that an event, in this case law's or other government actions, is much larger than it actually is. I found this project to be very entertaining to discover more about the conspiracy theories that are out there in our world, specifically our nation.

'Clinton Conspiracies'We as a group but a lot of hard work into this website. We took on the topic of presidential conspiracies and each made our own page about a specific president. A lot of research went into this project. It was kind of fun learning about weird conspiracies people come up with and then sharing them with the Internet world. In this course there were a lot of new things that I learned. I had no idea how many conspiracies there were and about so many different topics. Doing this website for English class was a new challenge for me but I felt it went pretty well and taught me a lot. Conspiracies are crazy and somethings the theorists come up with are just weird. But I guess you got to let people believe what they believe.

'Obama Conspiracies'This site is the collective blood, sweat, and tears of four students who really really really want to pass English class. But it's also a good look at some of the disturbing ways the human mind can warp what it sees, choosing to believe in falsehoods when the truth is just too plain and predictable. Conspiracies are so hard to get rid of because of that, the way the mind attaches to its beliefs, even when those beliefs are nonsensical and insane.
But I'm not a psychologist or anything. Conspiracies are nutty, and everyone knows that, outside of the people who so strongly believe them. All we did was collect them and make them look pretty, which is still a lot of work, it turns out. Mostly we just want an A. To me, this site demonstrates not only our ability as a group and as survivors of this course to research, identify, and connect various |
conspiracies, but it also demonstrates that no matter the individual, be it the CEO of a major company, a glamorous celebrity, or yes, even the president of the United States, a person in a position of power over others will often be treated with suspicion by the more imaginative members of society. No one can have purely good intentions, and therefore, those intentions must be evil. The men we researched have very little in common between the two of them -- their only connection is their seat of power over the United States, as presidents, and yet each of them has wild rumors, impressive stories, and nonsensical accusations that have followed and survived them.
I think that this site demonstrates a lot of hard work on our parts, but also something that takes a little peek at the nature of the mind. And conspiracies, of course. Lots and lots of conspiracies.
